Need

Okay, maybe I don't really need them...after all, I run around in flip flops all day everyday!  You have to admit, they are super cute though.

Success

Our first attempt was a complete failure.  It was probably the coldest, windiest day in March and there were boys wearing wetsuits and surfing in the Gulf (now that's saying something).  We put the blanket down, determined not to be discouraged by the weather, took one bite of our sandwiches, while they baby girl looked at us with watering eyes (apparently it was too cold to cry) while letting out little squeaks.  We tried, we failed, we ate in the car.

A month later, twenty degrees hotter, a  light breeze and we were in business.  Our picnic went off without a glitch and the baby girl actually seemed to like the beach.

Lost

I get lost in her thoughtful eyes.

I get lost in her infectious smile.

I get lost in our long conversations, oh how I wish I knew what she was saying.

I get lost in our day to day tasks, changing diapers, playing, feeding, going on walks…

I get so lost in our little world that I forget that I have friends, and I don’t return phone calls.

I just get lost in her.
