It really is fall...

everywhere else, besides Florida! The boy and I just got back from our weekend in St. Louis (the boy's cousin got married) and it was absolutely beautiful with the brisk weather and fall leaves. It was great to wear my scarf and pea coat and actually need to wear jeans (not just for the fun of it).

What's a girl going to do?

Since I have NO fall/winter dresses and am going to a wedding in St. Louis this weekend, I went out and bought myself one (like any other girl would do). I liked this one because it wasn't sleeveless but could easily be worn in sunny southwest Florida. I bought it in a blue color, because I am not sure if silver would be a great color on me and is not as fallish, which was one of my goals...you can't wear a summery dress to a fall wedding, if that's not a fashion rule, it should be. Plus, all the other dresses I liked were wool, and I didn't think that was very practical for me. I have a feeling I might freeze this weekend though, I think it's supposed to be about 40 the night of the wedding. Maybe I should've gone for something wool...

Pumpkin Party

One of my favorite things each October is having our friends over to carve some pumpkins. Which one is your favorite? (I made the flower one and the boy has a plain circle eyes, incase you were wondering)

Zinc

I had no idea there were different kinds of zinc. Did you? I thought zinc was zinc and all I knew was that it helps your body fight off colds and such. Knowing there were different types and how they might each affect me differently would have been nice to know. So with all that being said, you can probably guess that I did not buy the right kind (the kind that I have used before) and ended up throwing said zinc up all night…then got up at 5:45 to get ready for work and go on a field trip. Let's just say it’s been an interesting day.

Down For The Count

I have not been this sick since I got food poisoning in Ecuador more than two years ago. I am not sure what I have but I do know that I have been in bed since yesterday morning and have hardly been able to move. My goal at the moment, which seems a bit lofty right now, but hopefully feasible, is to be well enough to go to work tomorrow because there is almost nothing worse then making sub plans.

Stolen

It's offical, my choice of new cars was stolen by my sister and brother-in-law, and not only did they steal it, but they got a brand spanken new one! To make things even more interesting, the boy found out today that his car is in need of thousands of dollars in repairs, so it looks like he will be the one getting the new car. As of right now, it looks like I'll have to wait. In the mean time, I am back to square one with which type of car I want...when I actually get one that is!

One Upping

So…I feel sorry for my sister and brother-in-law, I really do, but don’t understand why they feel the need to buy the car that I want. My brother-in-law’s car was totaled in the recent floods in Atlanta, so now they are in the market as well. Not only are they looking at the same cars as me, but they seem to be trying to out do us. Out of pure frustration, I am thinking of putting the car search on hold, until they decide what they are getting and then reevaluating the situation. I love my family, but sometimes they are so exasperating!

Up and running again...literally!

I ran today for the first time since returning from China. Running in China was not an option because of the wonderful clean air there. Then there was the beginning of the school year, which always ends up being crazy insane busy and now that I have been teaching for exactly 31 days (I am a first grade teacher, I have to know these things) I am slowly finding time to get back to the things I enjoy doing (especially since the grad school class I am taking isn't nearly as time consuming as some of the other more recent ones). Although I am in awful shape right now still need to find more time to go, I am glad that I took this first baby step.

Announcement

I am pleased to let everyone know that I have officially started Christmas shopping this week. I know all of you are completely jealous, or completely discussed. My goal is to be finished by Thanksgiving, which seems feasible at the moment, but might not be as time flies by.
