Full Time Job
No, I didn’t go out and get a full time job, even though there have been days where I have been tempted to! I know, however, that once our baby arrives, I won’t want one at all. With all that being said, I never knew how time consuming pregnancy would be, especially the third trimester. I feel like every day I have a different appointment…going to the hospital for a rhogam shot, taking a glucose test, pre-registration at the hospital, labor classes, interviewing pediatricians, registering and meeting about an epidural incase I need one, making baby registries, not to mention my ob wants to see me more often now. It’s crazy and a good thing I don’t have a full time job or a job at all, because if I did I would never be able to get all these appointments scheduled.

Problem and Solution
Where there is a problem, there is always almost always usually a solution. Problem: Taking a grad school class when you are very likely going to have a baby before the class is over. Solution: Find a professor willing to work with you. Unfortunately, it wasn’t that easy and now I am stuck taking a class I didn’t really want to take (it’s an elective and I am required to take two) all in the name of finishing my master’s degree (I am starting to wonder why I thought this whole thing was a good idea). As for class last night, it was 3 hours long, it lasted about 30 longer than it was scheduled, she didn’t give us any breaks, and by the time I got home it was just about my bedtime. I think you get the picture!

Real Simple
As my life has been greatly simplified over the last couple of months, I have come to enjoy and appreciate some of the small things around me that bring a smile to my face. My mind is no longer filled with a never ending to do list, the next unit of study, and that one student who I just can’t figure out, so it’s not that these things are new to me, I am just able to see the value in them with a clear mind. Here is my list for today: holding the hand of the one I love, walking on the beach, seeing a sunset paint the sky pink and orange, feeling my daughter kick and move which almost always brings a smile to my face (the only time it doesn’t is when I am trying to sleep), stopping to admire one of God’s creations, getting a text message from a friend just because she was thinking about me, and eating popcorn at the movies. Hope you were able to stop and enjoy some of the simpler things that happened in your life today too.

Surprise
There are so many words I would use to describe my husband, kind, patient, understanding- definitely, but spontaneous- not so much.
To my pregnancy brain’s dismay, I apparently didn’t realize that yesterday was the four year anniversary of our engagement, which was one of the few times that he has been unpredictable and able to catch me completely off guard. So, why is this entitled surprised? Well, ladies and gentlemen, he did it again! Yesterday he amazed me by making reservations (without any hinting on my part at all) to a restaurant I had been dying to try, Sea Salt. Then after strolling on the beach and around downtown, we headed home, where the surprises kept coming, when he pulled out the same plastic bag (not a jewelry store bag) that he pulled my engagement ring out of and presented me with diamond earrings!
Are you speechless? Good, because so am I!

Progress
Yes, there isn't a crib. This is mostly due to the fact that it won't fit into either of our cars and we haven't taken the time to figure it out yet, but we do have one picked out!
