So close, yet so far away

Since I started getting an itty bitty belly, and could no longer fit into the majority of my regular clothes and am now down to about 7 outfits, I have been fighting the urge to try on maternity clothes. Therefore, today while shopping at Target I got up the courage to actually try on a cute maternity jean skirt, and it was just plain depressing. Not only can I no longer fit into my clothes, but I am too small for maternity clothes. I looked completely ridiculous the belly band was huge, so big in fact that I could’ve probably pulled it up to my neck without effort. So apparently I won’t be wearing maternity clothes as quickly as I thought, and for now its back to those same few outfits for a few more weeks. So sad!

Vacation?

Here in the Jones household we don’t believe in relaxing on vacations…it’s all about packing in as much as possible in a short time frame. Let’s take our latest trip for example to Philadelphia, Amish Country, and Hershey:
After getting lost and ending up in New Jersey on the first day and not arriving in Philadelphia till the middle of the afternoon we still managed to make it to the Franklin Institute and explore everything there, and ascend the stairs (like Rocky) of the Museum of Art.

The second day was packed with walking around Independence National Park and all the historical monuments and sites. We walked from 8:45 am till 4:00 in the afternoon and only stopped because it started raining. We saw every house, building, took tours, etc. that had anything to do with the founding of our nation (I love history), not to mention visiting the US Mint (where we saw nickels and pennies being made).

The next day was full of driving, because the Amish don’t exactly come to you, you have to go to them! We had a great time getting ourselves lost on all the back roads of Lancaster County trying to see Amish farms, horses and buggies, stores, etc.

Then there was a big snag in our plans, I got sick, and when you are sick, you can’t rush around going here, there and yonder, which I quickly found out when I got sick in some plants in front of Hershey Chocolate World. Don’t worry though, I still managed to go on the Hershey Chocolate Tour Ride, go to the Hershey Story Museum, the Hershey Gardens, and visit the Hotel Hershey (don’t ask me how I did it, because I am not even sure). So, who wants to go on our next Jones family vacation with us? No takers? I don’t know why, relaxing is so over rated!

Furniture

Huge...that's the best word to describe our new furniture, just huge. Why didn't it look this big in the store...because the store is huge and so huge furniture looks like normal size furniture in a huge store! I think it must be a tactic to help them sell their furniture. I admit that after the delivery men left yesterday I just stared at it and stared at it becasue I couldn't believe how much different the room looked, which was so spacious before it came. This is definitely going to take some getting used to...I have decided change is not my thing.
(The picture is not of my living room or the right color of the couch, but it is the couch!)

Project 1

At the moment I have about 7 projects going, but only one complete, this bulletin board. Hopefully next week I will have a few more done...a wall painted, a chair recovered, a quilt started and the list goes on. It's so nice to have the summer to get all this stuff done that I want to do all school year long and don't have the time.

The More the Merrier??

In most cases getting more is better, right? I love getting more ice cream or more popcorn, etc. However, as of last night I can officially say that more is not better and no, I did not step on the scale and realize I had gained 20 lbs because of eating more ice cream. “Why?” you ask. Well, as I was cooking dinner and as I poured the spinach out of the bag something fell out that was NOT spinach. So, what did I do? What any other girl would do…screamed and when that didn’t get the boy running, I yelled his name (he was grilling chicken and claimed that he thought it was someone somewhere outside). It ended up being a dead moth and spinach is no longer going to be on the menu at our house for a very, very long time, as I am sure you can understand.
